Volvo P1900 — first Volvo sport car, 1956 – 1957 YOM. Automobile was designed on the analogy of Chevrolet Corvette (General Motors) with fiberglass body and rally Volvo PV444 spare parts. Volvo P1900 body was so weak that doors opened on corners. After dean Gunnar Engellau took car a turn in a weekend production was halted. Design was admitted to be unsuccessful (67 automobiles were manufactured). Soon Volvo P1800 replaced Volvo P1900 and it was great company success.
